Kick-off meeting for the ICAERUS project was held on July 4-th 2022 in Athens!
The CEO of AgFutura Technologies, Mr. Blagoja Mukanov, was invited to the event and took an active role in the meeting.
AgFutura Technologies is a frontrunner and a leader of implementation of modern technologies (precision agriculture and digital agriculture) in the agricultural production process in North Macedonia. As a member of the ICAERUS Consortium, AgFutura Technologies will share its know-how with 12 other European partners.
The ICAERUS project (Innovations and Capacity building in Agricultural Environmental and Rural UAV Services) is funded by the Horizon Europe research and innovation funding programme, under the patronage of the European Commission and the EU.
The project started July 1-st 2022, and will last for the next 4 years. The focus of the project is the potential of drones as multipurpose vehicles – having in mind the risks and added values connected to the usage of drones in agricultural production processes.
Drones can make an important contribution to a number of European Commission’s strategies to ensure food security, address climate and environmental challenges and reverse biodiversity loss. The multi-purpose application of drones brings socio-economic, environmental and regulatory challenges that limit their current use across Europe.
The ICAERUS vision is to explore opportunities and provide a more complete and interconnected account of the potential and impact of drones as multi-purpose vehicles in EU agriculture, forestry and rural areas. The aim of ICAERUS is to showcase and support, through application, the effective, efficient and safe deployment of drones as well as, identify the risks and added values associated with their use.
