Episode #1 From Soil to Solutions: How EARTHONE Turns Science into Climate Action
Date: 15.01.26
Written By: Darko Jancheski
In the first episode of the EARTHONE Podcast, we explore how science, technology, and local communities come together to restore soil health across Europe. Drawing on experiences from pilot sites in Greece, Italy, and North Macedonia, the episode highlights how data-driven innovation and close collaboration on the ground are laying the foundations for a more resilient, climate-neutral future, starting beneath our feet.
This premiere episode is designed as an open discussion rather than a formal interview, allowing speakers to exchange perspectives, compare experiences, and reflect on both shared challenges and local specificities across different European landscapes.
The episode is hosted by Ljupcho Bozhinovski from AG FUTURA TECHNOLOGIES (AGFT), with expert insights from Mario Petkovski, Lead Agronomist and Head of the Department for Consulting and Education in Agriculture, also at AG FUTURA TECHNOLOGIES (AGFT). Together, they guide the conversation from the broader vision of the EARTHONE project to practical implications emerging from the pilot sites.
We are also pleased to welcome Prof. Vasilis Antoniadis from the University of Thessaly and Prof. Paolo Carletti from the University of Padova, who shared their scientific perspectives on soil health, sustainable land-use practices, and climate action. Their contributions illustrate how long-term research, field experimentation, and collaboration with farmers and local stakeholders can translate scientific knowledge into actionable solutions.
This episode sets the stage for the EARTHONE podcast series by introducing the project’s core ideas, its living-lab approach through European pilots, and its ambition to support evidence-based decision-making for a climate-resilient future.
