AGFT has started the preparation for the ICAERUS Use Case – Official meeting with Civil Aviation Agency

AgFutura Technologies had the first official meeting with the Civil Aviation Agency in N.Macedonia for the needs of the Horizon Europe project called Innovations and Capacity building in Agricultural Environmental and Rural UAV Services (ICAERUS). The Civil Aviation Agency is organized as an aviation authority of the Republic of North Macedonia and its organizational structure provides efficient and timely execution of the safety regulatory functions, as well as the other functions related to security oversight, economic oversight, air traffic rights, etc.
Many topics were addressed at the meeting, amongst which topics concerning the logistics, safety, and legislation regarding the execution of the Rural Logistics Use Case that is going to take place in Ohrid and Strumica. The Use Case will inspect the possibility to improve logistics and the livelihood of the people living in rural areas by implementing the Drone as a Service (DaaS) model for transporting small-weight goods such as medicine, documentation, and agricultural inputs (pesticides, fertilizers, small mechanical parts, etc.).
The main purpose of the project is to understand and implement the Potential of drones as multi-purpose vehicles, as well as to understand the risks and added values of drone usage. The ICAERUS vision is to explore opportunities and provide a more complete and interconnected account of the potential and impact of drones as multi-purpose vehicles in EU agriculture, forestry, and rural areas. The aim of ICAERUS is to showcase and support through an application for the effective, efficient, and safe deployment of drones as well as, identify the risks and added values associated with their use.
