Macedonia is a country of information scientists and there are already initiatives on the market for the application and development of information technologies in agriculture, but this is not enough for noticeable socio-economic effects, emphasized the participants of the conference on smart agriculture organized by the Agricultural Institute – Skopje.

The conference, which gathered academia, agricultural producers, authorities and students in one place, opened the question of how agriculture, through the application of IT and new modern business models, can become attractive for the youth of the country.

It would not be wise to introduce new technologies just because it is a trend, but to solve problems, was one of the main messages at the event.

Many significant participants shared their thoughts, views and knowledge at this gathering, including academic sector representatives from the Agricultural Institute – Skopje, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of N. Macedonia and other relevant figures from the field of agriculture, information science and economics.

Mr. Blagoja Mukanov, the CEO of AgFutura Technologies, one of the pioneers in the smart agriculture sector in N. Macedonia, had a lot to talk about on the subject of “Remote sensing as a tool to improve agricultural business positions in the global agri-food sector”. With excellence in data and modern technologies and highly qualified experts, AgFutura Technologies strives towards developing and providing most reliable services and products for our partners in the agricultural sector and the food industry. Being on the agricultural and information technology scene for more than 6 years, AgFutura Technologies fought its way through hard work and managed to earn its rightful place as one of the pioneers of this sector in the Republic of N. Macedonia.

This event was a wonderful experience, and we have enjoyed every minute of it. The AgFutura team is grateful for the invitation to take part as one of the key speakers at this event. It was a good opportunity to showcase the level of expertise that we have gained over the years, and we also had the chance to present our current work as well as our plans for the future. Our morale and motivation for excellence in the field of agriculture are higher with every event we take place in. It gives us reassurance that we have done an impeccable job so far, and that we are now harvesting the fruits of our hard work.
