AgFutura Technologies participated on the 2nd Project Management Board Meeting that took place on 28th and 29th June in Wageningen – Netherlands, hosted by Wageningen University & Research.
The main goal of the PMB meeting was overview of the project, presenting the progress and analyzing the next steps of the ICAERUS agenda. Additionally, networking between consortium partners was strengthened.
On the 28th, projects H2020 I-Seed, MSCA WildDrone and H2020 FlexiGroBots were presented and the rest of the day was dedicated to the presentation of the overall progress of the work packages including conducted activities, outcomes, achieved KPIs and planning next steps. As a part of each presentation, there was time dedicated for discussion, which helped for better understanding of the activities.
The second day of the event, 29th of June was dedicated to presentation of the 5 use cases. It was an in-depth look at the objectives, progress and main results so far, deliverables and next steps of each use case, followed with discussion after each presentation. The wrap-up of the day was the roundtable workshop: UC Drone Stakeholders networks.
AgFutura Technologies, as a partner in the consortium, has a significant role in the project with tasks in the field of rural logistics. For the needs of the ICAERUS project, testing of the system of the use of drones will be carried out in Ohrid and Strumica, where the delivery of medicines, documentation, fertilizers and mechanical parts in rural areas will be demonstrated.
The ICAERUS project or “Innovation and Capacity building in Agricultural Environmental and Rural UAV Services” is funded by the Horizon Europe program, with a duration of four years (2022 – 2026). The consortium consists of 13 partners from eight different EU countries. The vision of the ICAERUS project is to explore the possibilities and understand the potential and impact of drones as multi-functional aircraft in agriculture, forestry and rural areas in the EU.
The goal of ICAERUS is through effective and efficient application to show and support the safe use of drones, as well as to identify the potential risks of their use.
With this project, the efficiency and effectiveness of rural logistics in Republic of North Macedonia can be drastically improved.
