Maintenance

Electrode maintenance

  • When not in use, store the electrode in 3 mol/L KCl solution or saturated KCl solution; do not leave it in distilled or deionised water.
  • Inorganic deposits can be briefly cleaned with 0.1 mol/L HCl or NaOH solution, after which the electrode should be rinsed with distilled water.
  • Organic deposits can be cleaned with alcohol or acetone, after which the electrode is rinsed with distilled water.
  • Remove the protective cap before use, and clean the electrode with water every 3 to 6 months, depending on operating conditions.
