Overview
RAMASphere is a sub-project implemented within the framework of FARMTOPIA, a Horizon Europe initiative bringing together 22 partners across 12 countries to make agricultural digital solutions accessible and affordable for small and medium farms.
Selected through FARMTOPIA's open call, the aim of the project was to deploy and validate RAMAS, a farm management information system, developed by AGFT at the Kievo pilot farm in the Ovchepole wine district of North Macedonia, and to create a comprehensive digital farm model by mapping existing workflows, introducing precision agriculture practices, and establishing a tailored multi-year crop management strategy. The pilot covered viticulture and cereal production, testing the platform's ability to deliver remote crop monitoring and professional advisory services across the full vegetation cycle without requiring farmers to make large investments in digital infrastructure.
AGFUTURA Role
AGFT participated as the Agricultural Digital Solution (ADS) provider and project lead, responsible for the development, deployment, and validation of the RAMAS platform within the RAMASphere sub-project.
AGFT advanced RAMAS from TRL 6 to TRL 8 by upgrading the platform's user interface, integrating Farmtopia's data APIs for weather forecasting, Earth Observation, and pest prediction, and conducting pilot testing at the Kievo farm. AGFT's team of agronomists delivered all advisory services exclusively through the platform, validating a remote monitoring and advisory model tailored to the needs of small and medium farms in North Macedonia.
