Demo activities have begun! Our ICAERUS project partner GeoSense from Greece recently visited all demonstration sites in North Macedonia. On this visit, both organizations, GeoSense and the host AGFT ensured all logistical needs were met and also prepared all demonstration sites.

The ICAERUS vision is to explore opportunities and provide a more complete and interconnected account of the potential and impact of drones as multi-purpose vehicles in EU agriculture, forestry and rural areas.

The aim of ICAERUS is to showcase and support, through application, the effective, efficient and safe deployment of drones as well as, identify the risks and added values associated with their use.

GeoSense’s visit to North Macedonia was a crucial step in ensuring the project’s success. During the visit, the two partners arranged a meeting with the Civil Aviation Agency and had a more insightful conversation about the legislation for using UAVs on the territory of the country.

AGFT, with its knowledge of the local landscape and logistics, guided GeoSense’s representatives to the specific sites in Strumica and Ohrid, and initiated meetings with the local stakeholders where the project’s demonstrations would take place.

GeoSense’s presence in North Macedonia not only strengthens the ties between project partners but also brings valuable expertise to the table. As the project progresses, the insights and contributions of each partner will play a significant role in advancing the goals of ICAERUS.

This visit is just the beginning of what promises to be a fruitful collaboration between GeoSense, AGFT, and the broader ICAERUS project consortium.
