At AgFutura Technologies, we are dedicated to advancing sustainable agricultural practices through innovative solutions. This research examines the potential of bio-based fertilizers (BBFs) as a sustainable alternative to conventional fertilizers, addressing critical environmental and economic challenges. The study emphasizes the role of BBFs in enhancing nutrient recycling, improving soil health, and aligning with European Union strategies for a circular bioeconomy.

Key Insights and Contributions

  • The application of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) framework to assess the key factors influencing the commercialization of bio-based fertilizers.
  • A comprehensive approach to value creation, with a focus on integrating sustainability as a central objective.
  • Strategic recommendations for stakeholders within the fertilizer and agricultural sectors, guiding the transition toward more sustainable and circular business models.

This research was conducted as part of the European Commission BBI JU project “B-FERST – Bio-based Fertilising Products as the Best Practice for Agricultural Management Sustainability,” under the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU).
