On October 25th, our team of agronomists successfully organized an event at the production facility of the Kievo Winery aimed at showcasing a Demo Farm Event – Precision Tools for Optimized Agricultural Production. The main goal of this event was to demonstrate the implementation of digital and precision agriculture concepts, as well as the deployment of our advisory and farm management system, RAMAS. This system’s tools serve farmers daily, and the event highlighted the benefits of digitizing processes and optimizing inputs. Our collaborator, Filip Kamchev, owner of the Kievo Winery and a RAMAS user, greatly contributed to the success of this event, as a host, by generously sharing his knowledge and experiences with the participants. We have been collaborating with this young farmer for over a year, and this demonstration provided an excellent opportunity to present results, new insights, and challenges we’ve encountered and learned from together throughout this process.

In addition, together with the participants, we conducted an assessment, evaluation, and discussion regarding the farm demonstration, summarizing their perspectives, experiences, and knowledge on the shared topic. Following the presentation, the workday concluded with a workshop on Assessing Digitalization Outcomes at the Business level. Through a previously designed “Value Tree,” we showcased various outcomes of digitalization from multiple perspectives (farm management, economic, environmental, and farmer well-being results), which helped initiate a discussion and evaluate the current state of affairs in our region from different viewpoints.

The discussion and results from these activities will contribute to research being conducted as part of the CODECS project, supported by the Horizon RIA programme, whose primary goal is to enhance the motivation and capacity of European farmers to understand and adopt digitalization that fosters sustainable and transformative change.
