From August 7th to 9th, 2024, i-BEC hosted a dynamic three-day training at their research facility, organized by Paraskevi Chantzi and Galanis Georgios from CARBONICA.

Lab Insights

The first two days offered hands-on lab training. i-BEC’s Maria Giortsou, Dimitris Goutzikostas, and Vasilis Rousonikolos guided participants from UGD, AGFT, CUT and ECoE through soil organic carbon analysis and essential soil properties for carbon sequestration.

Field Techniques

On the final day, Daphne Kitsou, Georgia Kostaki, and Thodoris Akritidis led a field-focused session. Attendees mastered the Carbonica Field Diagnostic Toolbox for soil sampling and carbon footprint measurement, linking fieldwork with lab analysis and supporting carbon farming certification.

Participants left with practical skills and insights to boost carbon sequestration efforts.
