The study on “Traceability in the agro-food value chain: The case of Western Balkans and Central Asia” is prepared by AgFutura Technologies, supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The GIZ Sector Network for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment in the Regions of Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and Afghanistan (SENECA SEDE) aims fostering the transnational exchange of expertise in relevant topics among GIZ employees and beyond.

Digitalization of traceability in agricultural value chains has been one of the challenges present in WB and CA countries that needed to be further addressed, thus resulted in the joint cooperation to conduct the study. The study presents the various digital solutions in agro-value chains traceability, the countries’ readiness in implementing such solutions and provides practical examples of implemented digital traceability systems.

The study was prepared by two of our senior consultants Blagoja Mukanov and Viktorija Ilieva.
