What this product is

Measuring the light available for photosynthesis

The PAR sensor measures photosynthetically active radiation in the 400 to 700 nm spectral range. The silicon photodetector produces a signal proportional to light intensity, and cosine correction ensures the correct response at different angles of incidence. Each sensor is individually calibrated.

The technical values apply to the 400–700 nm PAR variant with RS485 Modbus RTU communication.

Mounting recommendations

  • Mount the sensor horizontally to preserve measurement accuracy.
  • Place it where it is not shaded by the structure, other sensors or surrounding vegetation.
  • Keep the photodetector surface clean; dust and deposits can reduce the measured intensity.
  • Wiring and addressing are adapted to the data logger and the configuration of the AGRO VEDA station.
